This week I’m helping at our church’s holiday club, which entails a general assortment of crafting (hence the glitter), playing games, singing, lots of squash (orange and blackcurrant) etc., etc.
I’m reading from the bible near the end of each day. This morning I was sitting next to a little girl I’d befriended in our group and she leaned across and pointed at the bible. “What’s that?” She whispered.
“It’s a bible,” I told her, “I’ll be reading it out loud from up the front later.”
“All of it?” She asked brightly, apparently not at all daunted by the idea.
Well, no. Not all of it, I had to admit.
